Litha~Topaz

Happy Midsummer, Everyone! Bo Ruadh here, taking a stroll through the coming corn to visit our stone Circle. Well… half a ring, anyway! England may have its Stonehenge to mark the longest day of the year, but our coveners erected our own stones, golden brown in the sunlight.
We placed them here as a reminder to the growing corn to reach towards the sky. The stalks should be knee high by Fourth of July, after which, there’ll be no stopping them. And looking down on the fields, the entire Goddess Season, will be our topaz-hued pillars, a homage place to the Sun.

Topaz--now THAT’S a great stone for this turn of the wheel. Its name may have come from either the word for “seek” or the word for “fire.” Either way, it is related to both the Sun and the planet Jupiter.
Topaz can really get your summer off to a flying start! First, it's a stone that stimulates pure joy. It’s just too difficult to stay negative if you keep a topaz close to your heart. It’s like a battery, recharging your body and spirit, cleansing your aura, and getting rid of stress--emotions you may have been sitting on since winter--or even NEW stress, like worrying over those final exams!
Topaz helps you focus. It keeps you grounded, and allows you to see your intentions and goals, and how to achieve them. Then--stand back! This amazing stone gives you confidence, energy, health, creativity, and the wisdom and mental powers to bring your wishes to life. With topaz, you will see your limitations, and overcome them.
It’s believed that this stone has the ability to awaken all these gifts because it absorbs the Sun’s light and power, and channels it to the person who carries it.
There is a protective side to topaz, as well. It can fend off nightmares, and end sleepwalking. And, it is a stone of “plenty.” Naturally, that can mean it attracts money, but also more than adequate amounts of shelter, food, recreation and employment--all the basics required to live a healthy life.
Looking for the perfect gift for dad of Father’s Day? Give him abundance! A green candle, surrounded by tumbled topaz, should do the trick!
Enjoy the warmth of longer days. Good Litha, Everyone!
